SURINNO PRODUCT INFORMATION
Performance Criteria
- Non-porous : Unaffected by fluctuating moisture ingression and humidity. Surinno Solid Surfacing is for all practical purposes 100% non porous.
- Consistent : Finished composites and moulded shapes are consistent in composition, colour and pattern
- Hygienic : The non-porous composition and fabrication technology applied to achieve seamless joints prevents mould, bacterial and microbial growth.
- Heat resistant : Surinno will withstand day to day spillage of hot water, food and oil.
- Stain resistant : Surinno Solid Surfacing will be undamaged by most household staining agents and laboratory chemicals. Grease leaves no aftertrace because of Surinno’s non-porous properties.
- Durable : Surinno work surfaces will withstand the rigours of everyday exposure.
- Low maintenance : A daily wipe using a non-abrasive cleaning agent will keep the surface clean. It is highly resistant to deterioration and minor damages can be polished or repaired.
- Scratch resistant : Light scratches can be removed with a Scotchbrite pad and polishing compound.
- Repairable : Surinno Solid
Surfacing is by nature one of the few serviceable and
repairable decorative materials. The colour and pattern goes
all the way through making the material homogenous and
allowing for scratches and burns to be removed with minimum
inconvenience. Accidental and malicious damage can be
professionally restored
Helpful
Hints
The final cost of Surinno elements may be heavily influenced by material wastage. In order to reduce costs Surinno suggest sheet optimization to be taken into consideration during the design process. Local Surinno Fabricators can advise.
Sheet sizes:
3050 x 765 x 12mm
3050 x 1014 x 12mm (available on request)
Surinno tops must always be supported with a 22mm Supa Wood substrate
Any overhang extending over 300mm must be supported
Surinno is thermoformable at approximately 90°C - Fabricators can make practically any shape specified by designers by thermoforming and joining Surinno pieces.
Surinno finishes can vary from a matt to a high-gloss, depending on the effect required. Surinno suggests a semi-matt finish which is the easiest finish to achieve and lasts the longest.
Colours and patterns run through the entire thickness of the material and therefore cannot wear away. This feature makes Surinno ideal for applications in public areas.
Inlays of corporate logo’s are yet another indication as to the versatility of the product.
A combination of custom moulded accessories can be incorporated with the fabricated units as a way adding interest and minimizing costs
Surinno is non-porous so spills and stains are not absorbed into the surface making it stain resistant. However certain chemicals will react with the surface and leave a stain or etching which can be removed with a scotch-brite pad. Therefore it is advisable to request a sample for additional testing.
For a translucent effect with under counter lighting, glass or clear perspex must be used as a substrate.
Always consult with fabricator/manufacturer when dealing with a translucent.
Surinno in the
Kitchens
A Surinno worktop offers a choice of integrated sinks, splashbacks, spill-proof rims, integrated hob bars, basin draining board inlays and more.
Under-mounting of bowls eliminate rims that trap dirt and water minimizing cleaning and maintenance costs.
Minimal care and protection will ensure that a Surinno worktop will retain its good looks year after year (ref Care and Maintenance )
Integrated bowls bring a new dimension of shape and colour to your kitchen. These bowls are available in various sizes as well as in 4 plain colours : Glacier, Perlemoen, Eggshell, Dawn Grey
Recommendations
Though it is very durable, Surinno like most materials can be damaged by excessive or prolonged exposure to heat as might occur when placing a heavy pot straight from the oven directly onto a Surinno counter top. We recommend that hot cookware always be placed on a trivet.
Surface damage from exposure to excessive heat can be repaired to its original look.
Surinno in the Bathrooms

Warm to the touch and appealing to the eye, the non-porous qualities of Surinno make it ideally suited to the modern bathroom environment.
Another feature of the Surinno bathroom is the addition of an integrated vanity basin.
